Effective as of [TO COMPLETE: date] · Last updated on [TO COMPLETE: date]

Our commitment. Namoony is designed for Québec households, in compliance with Law 25 (An Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information) and applicable Canadian laws. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why, where it is stored, and the rights you can exercise.

01 Who we are

Namoony is a service that helps you understand your spending from photos of your receipts. At this stage, the service is operated by Lyonnel Dzotang [TO CONFIRM BY THE FOUNDER], as a natural person, pending possible incorporation, hereinafter "Namoony," "we."

Address: [TO COMPLETE: address]
General email: confidentialite@namoony.ca

02 Person in charge of the protection of personal information

In accordance with Law 25, a person is in charge of the protection of your personal information within Namoony. You may contact them for any question, access request, correction, withdrawal of consent, or complaint:

Person in charge: Lyonnel Dzotang [TO CONFIRM BY THE FOUNDER], acting as the person in charge of the protection of personal information

Email: confidentialite@namoony.ca

Address: [TO COMPLETE: address]

We are committed to responding to any request within the timeframe prescribed by law (generally 30 days).

03 The information we collect

Information you provide to us

Information collected automatically

What we don't do

Namoony does not connect to your bank accounts and does not collect any banking credentials. We only see the receipts and expenses you entrust to us, one receipt at a time. You stay in control of what you track.

04 Sensitive information

Some receipts — particularly medical or health-related receipts (pharmacy, clinic, care) — may contain sensitive personal information within the meaning of Law 25. This information benefits from enhanced protection.

You freely choose whether or not to submit this type of receipt. By submitting it, you consent to it being processed for the purposes described in this policy. We encourage you to submit only the receipts you wish to track.

05 Why we use your information

We use your information solely for the following purposes:

We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for advertising purposes.

06 Consent

By creating an account and submitting receipts, you consent to the collection and use of your information for the purposes described here. Your consent is free, informed, and given for specific purposes.

You may withdraw your consent at any time, by ceasing to use the service and requesting the deletion of your account (see the "Your rights" section). Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.

07 Processing by artificial intelligence and transfer outside Québec

We want to be transparent about an important point.

To read your receipts, the receipt image you submit is processed by an artificial intelligence service specialized in data extraction. This provider may be located outside Québec, including in the United States. The image is transmitted for the duration of processing in order to extract the information (merchant, items, prices, taxes), after which the result is returned to us.

Once extraction is done, all tax and amount calculations are performed by our own systems, in a deterministic and verifiable way — the artificial intelligence reads, but it does not decide your figures.

Before using this provider, we assess privacy-related factors in accordance with Law 25, and we ensure through contractual commitments that your information benefits from adequate protection, in particular that it is not retained or used for other purposes by the provider.

[TO BE LEGALLY VALIDATED: name the AI provider(s), confirm contractual safeguards and processing location, and document the privacy factors assessment.]

We are working to evolve our infrastructure toward processing hosted in Canada, in order to strengthen the sovereignty of your data.

08 Where your data is stored

Your account information, households, expenses, and associated history are stored in a database hosted in Canada [TO CONFIRM: Canadian hosting region of the cloud provider]. Your receipt images are stored in a secure storage space [TO CONFIRM: location].

Only the AI extraction processing described in section 07 may involve a temporary transfer outside Québec.

09 Who we share your information with

We do not sell or rent your information. We use providers ("subcontractors") only to deliver the service, and only to the extent necessary:

[TO COMPLETE / VALIDATE: name the subcontractors used and their safeguards, in accordance with Law 25.]

10 The shared household

Namoony is organized around the household. When several people share the same household, expenses and receipts submitted to the household are visible to the members of that household. Only add to a household people with whom you agree to share this information, and only submit to a shared household the receipts you agree to make visible there.

11 How long we retain your information

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and for as long as necessary for the purposes described, or to comply with our legal obligations.

When your information is no longer necessary, we securely destroy or anonymize it. You may request the deletion of your account at any time (see below).

[TO SPECIFY: retention periods by category, and final deletion timeframe after a request.]

12 Your rights

Law 25 grants you rights over your personal information. You may:

To exercise these rights, write to our person in charge of the protection of personal information (section 02). We respond within the timeframes prescribed by law.

13 Automated decisions

The reading of your receipts by artificial intelligence is used to extract information and suggest a categorization. You always remain in control: you can review and correct any data read or categorized, and your corrections take precedence. Namoony does not make decisions producing legal effects on you in an exclusively automated manner.

14 Cookies and tracking technologies

Namoony uses cookies and similar technologies strictly necessary for its operation (for example, keeping you signed in) and, where applicable, for usage measurement for improvement purposes. We do not use advertising cookies.

[TO COMPLETE based on the measurement tools actually deployed: specify which ones, and where applicable offer a consent / withdrawal mechanism.]

15 Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information: encryption of data in transit, isolation of data by household, access control, and encryption of access tokens to third-party services. As no system is infallible, we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we strive to protect your information in a manner appropriate to its sensitivity.

16 Confidentiality incidents

In the event of a confidentiality incident presenting a risk of serious harm, we take reasonable measures to reduce its effects, maintain an incident register, and notify you as well as the Commission d'accès à l'information, in accordance with Law 25.

17 Minors' information

Namoony is not intended for individuals under 14 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from a child under 14 without the required consent. [TO BE LEGALLY VALIDATED based on your situation.]

18 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the service or the law. In the event of a significant change, we will inform you through a reasonable means. The last update date appears at the top of this page.
